By utilizing the webPOISONCONTROL app, individuals can promptly assess whether contacting Poison Control or heading to an emergency room is warranted, or if following specific steps at home is appropriate. This confidential application streamlines the process by requesting key information such as age, substance involved, quantity ingested (in case of swallowing), weight, and time elapsed since exposure to deliver prompt recommendations. Furthermore, the inclusion of a barcode scanner feature eliminates the need for manual entry of product details.

Version 3.2 of the app now includes enhanced functionality to accommodate various types of poison exposures, ranging from ingestion to incidents involving eye contact, skin exposure, inhalation, injection, and bites or stings. Additionally, it addresses scenarios like accidental double dosages or closely timed doses. Developed collaboratively by poison control centers, this app has served over half a million individuals facing poison-related emergencies with reliable guidance tailored to each unique situation.
